7th edition (6.5 to some) is upon us

I refuse to have this be another rant thread about how unbound lists destroy the game, or no limit to warp charge points does nasty things. I refuse to think that TOs can't reason through this stuff on their own. There has been this thing in existence for as long as games have been around. It's called a house rule.

I absolutely LOVE the new rule-set and the freedom it brings to list-building. I get that there are game breakers there, but there were before ! We haven't had the rules a week yet people. Calm down, read and enjoy the new books, and start planning all those sick combos. I saw an interesting idea on the net this morning. If you want to play it, have at it, but you need to own the model, no proxies.

This means if you want that armored company, cool go for it, but you need to own 14 Leman Russ tanks. You want that necron airforce? go for it, you need to own 10 flyers. Those models are not cheap, and I think that will slow down the majority of this issue. Not all, but most.  That said, lets all take the summer to absorb the rules, get a feel for where the meta is going and enjoy the ride. It IS a game people.

40k7th edition is confirmed for May 24th release

Doing a little search turns up images of next week's white dwarf announcing the release. The intriguing bit is that while the force org. Chart is still in, you can take an "unbound" army and use any model.....

This is exciting for variety, but the tournament gamer in me can only sigh and shake my. Head at all the incoming combos....

Creature Caster is fully funded and a wild success.

Well I knew it would happen, heck it funded only a couple of hours after opening. They are on track to clear $200k before the end of the weekend on a $30k goal. I would call that success. The sculpts are gorgeous, and the price is right. Go check them out HERE.

Origins 2014 Zone Mortalis Kill Team training grounds

Ok, with the Adepticon whiplash subsiding I am looking to the next big project of the year....Zone Mortalis! Yep, I am building a zone mortalis board for Origins 2014. Since I cannot be in attendance this year I am designing a set piece table that will pit 4 Ordo Xenos Deathwatch team against each other and the abandoned asteroid mine DC/RT-D 2006 as a training excercise...Little do they know the defenses have been partially reactivated by the machine spirit of the facility....and let's just say the machine is MAD at being left to drift for centuries....(30/30-150 if I've ever seen it).

These are just a few layout shots before I begin to cut in foam hallways and rooms around the Mechanicus facility hallways. The layout is hard to see here, and I mean to be that way...sorry, no maps ahead of the game!!

Think of all of this as recessed into the board and you get a better idea of the layout....I'll post more after I get the foam laid in this weekend.
